Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Yardlet handles information when you browse our website, use our DIY tools or AI Visualizer, make purchases or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, contact support.yardlet@gmail.com.

Information we collect

You can browse the website and use the DIY configurator without an account. For AI features, we collect your email address, sign-in verification and session records, generation balance, purchase history and saved projects. Projects include uploaded photos, pin locations and instructions, generated images, material suggestions, cost scenarios, project area and generation status.

For purchases, we receive checkout and transaction information such as your email, order identifier, product, amount, currency and payment status. Stripe collects payment information and may collect billing details; Yardlet does not store complete card numbers. Support or consultation requests may include the photos, measurements and other details you choose to send.

Our hosting and security providers process technical information such as IP addresses, browser/device information, requested pages, timestamps and errors to operate and protect the service. We use hashed browser and network identifiers and sign-in attempt records to help limit abuse.

How AI uses your photos and instructions

When you request a concept or refinement, we send the source image and your pinned instructions to OpenAI’s API to create the result. We also send the generated image, instructions and project-area scenario for AI project analysis. This processing is necessary to provide the AI feature. You can choose not to use AI and continue using our DIY tools.

Upload only photos you have permission to use. Crop or remove people, licence plates, house numbers and other identifying details before uploading; avoid sensitive personal information in photos and instructions. We do not need your exact property address to generate a concept.

OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless a customer opts in. Its standard abuse-monitoring logs may retain content for up to 30 days, with longer retention in circumstances described in its policy. This does not mean immediate deletion or zero retention. See OpenAI’s API data controls.

How we use information

• Verify email sign-in and keep account access secure.
• Generate, analyse, save and deliver AI concepts and exports.
• Maintain generation balances and prevent duplicate charges or credit grants.
• Process orders and send plans, sign-in codes, invoices and service messages.
• Respond to requests, investigate errors and prevent fraud or misuse.
• Meet accounting, tax and legal obligations.

Service emails do not subscribe you to marketing. We send promotional emails only with your opt-in, and you can unsubscribe. We do not sell personal information or publish your uploaded photos and generated designs as a public gallery. We will seek separate permission before using private project content in marketing.

Providers and international processing

We use Vercel for website hosting, privacy-focused website analytics and private image storage, Neon for account and project records, OpenAI for image generation and analysis, Resend for sign-in and plan emails, and Stripe for payments and paid invoice delivery. We share information needed for those functions. Providers may also process information for security, fraud prevention or legal obligations under their applicable terms.

These providers may process and store information outside British Columbia and Canada, including in the United States. Information may be accessible to authorities under the laws of the country where it is processed. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the service and its users.

Website analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand page visits, referrers, general device and country statistics, approximate active time, and actions such as opening tools, copying example prompts, using calculators, generating designs, starting downloads and opening checkout. This analytics service does not use cookies and loads only after you accept optional analytics. You can reject analytics or change your choice using Privacy preferences in the footer. We store your choice on your device for up to 180 days. We remove URL query parameters and fragments before sending page addresses, and do not send your email address, sign-in codes, uploaded photos or AI prompts as analytics events.

Cookies and browser storage

We use essential cookies for sign-in sessions and browser identification. Our site also uses browser storage for preferences and design or checkout state. These functions help keep you signed in, restore your work and prevent misuse. Blocking cookies or clearing browser storage may interrupt sign-in or remove locally saved work. If we introduce advertising or non-essential tracking, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required before enabling it.

Saved designs and security

AI photos and saved designs are associated with your account and served through account-restricted access, rather than public image links. Authorised personnel and service providers may access information when needed to operate the service, resolve a support request or meet security and legal obligations. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account, uploaded images, generated designs and project history to provide saved access until you request deletion or the information is no longer needed for that service. We retain transaction records as needed for accounting, tax, disputes and legal obligations. Security and support records are retained as reasonably needed to investigate incidents, resolve requests and protect the service.

To request deletion of an image, project or account, email support.yardlet@gmail.com. There is currently no self-service deletion button. We may verify your request using the account email. Deletion can remove access to saved designs, so download anything you want to keep first. Limited records may be retained where legally required or needed for unresolved disputes; backup copies and provider records may remain until their retention periods end. We will explain any applicable limits when responding.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion, or withdraw consent to future optional processing, subject to applicable law. Withdrawing consent to processing needed for an AI account may prevent us from continuing that feature. You can use the DIY tools without uploading a photo to AI. Contact us if you have a privacy concern; you may also raise a complaint with the applicable privacy regulator.

Policy changes

We show the latest revision date above. We will provide notice and obtain additional consent where required before materially changing how personal information is used.
